Christmas Trees

With Christmas approaching, Bairnsdale Lions Club sells beautifully shaped, locally grown Christmas Trees for $50 from the BP Service Station on Main Street, Bairnsdale. If stocks last the trees will be available until Christmas Eve. Christmas Trees and Lions Christmas Cakes ($20) & Puddings ($16) can be bought at the BP using cash or card for payment.

PICTURED: Lions Chris Dean and Mal Bagnato with Thomas Caire and Lion Lindsay Caire.  These trees have been sourced from a tree farm in Fernbank and have been sold from this BP station for more than 40 years. December is a busy time for our Lions Club members selling Christmas Trees and Lions Christmas Cakes. Then, in January, the members start selling tickets in the Club annual major raffle. Funds raised from these activities go towards supporting local, national and international communities.

Christmas Cakes

These fabulous Lions Christmas Cakes are available all year round directly from Bairnsdale Lions Club or from the BP Bairnsdale Service Station. Email the Club at bairnsdalelions@gmail.com, or drop in to the BP, if you would like to buy a cake or two. The all year round cakes aren’t old stock, they are fresh, but still called Christmas Cakes throughout the year.

From November through to Christmas the cakes and puddings are sold at various business outlets around Bairnsdale. Proceeds from cake sales not only support a range of Lions projects in the local community, but also support national and global projects. So, not only do you get a great tasting cake that is 100% Australian made, you are also supporting a range of Lions Community Projects.

Raffle

The Bairnsdale Lions Club runs a major raffle at the beginning of every year. For many years the major prize has included a brand new 6×4 trailer made and donated by A1 Trailers Bairnsdale as well as many tools supplied by BJ Crane of Bairnsdale.

This picture shows the happy winner of the 2022 raffle Warren and Narelle O’Conner and their son Jarrod, of Lakes Entrance, along with Lions Mal Bagnato and Peter White.  The winners were pleased to collect their prize, including the 6×4 A1 Trailer, lawnmower, chainsaw, leaf blower, whipper snipper and hedge trimmer. The winners of the other prizes were also happy. All winning names are listed in the Bairnsdale Advertiser Public Notices on the Wednesday after the raffle is drawn. Funds raised from this raffle are used to support our local community.
